Cannan was born in Ranfurly and raised in Mid Canterbury, where he developed a deep appreciation for the land and the people who work it. With five years as a livestock agent at Peter Walsh & Associates and three years in the farm machinery and GPS industry, he has built strong knowledge and connections across the agricultural sector. His hands-on background fuels his passion for supporting farming families and rural communities.

Now based in North Canterbury with his fiancée, Lily, Cannan enjoys life on their lease block, being active in the local community, and playing footy.
